In addition to coordinating the daily operations of the firm, Steve also works closely with our clients. He believes in understanding the operational needs of a client prior to delivering service. He has the unique interest in what makes the business work and what are the key objectives of the business owners. By gaining this understanding he can best match up the firm’s expertise in order to meet the client's objectives. Steve is very focused on value added services that have a positive effect on the company's bottom line.

Background and Experience

Steve has over fifteen years experience in business management and consulting. Prior to joining McLeod & Company, Steve was Chief Financial Officer for a local manufacturer with sales in excess of $30,000,000. 

Steve has helped numerous companies during his career. He works with business owners by helping them determine the best course of action related to the financial areas of their businesses. Steve has helped business owners with banking relationships, with budgeting, and with cash flow forecasting.  Steve has helped his clients fund business plans with various non-traditional financing options; and has helped close over $20,000,000 of financing needs for his clients. These tools are a necessity to business owners today.

In addition, Steve has helped distressed companies with developing and implementing turnaround plans aimed at keeping local companies a viable part of our economy. He works with management and stakeholders to determine the best courses of action the company must take in order to survive.

Education

Steve earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from VA Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and a MBA degree from the Executive MBA Program at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.
