Client Service Philosophy

Fulton believes in personalized service delivery in a hands-on philosophy. Fulton is very involved in clients operations and very close to the needs and priorities of his clients. His philosophy is to fully understand the clients needs and desires and to design the best service to meet those needs and desires.

Experience

Fulton began his public accounting career in 1983 with KPMG Peat Marwick where he became Tax Partner. Since leaving KPMG Peat Marwick he has concentrated his efforts in service to businesses in the area of specialized tax consulting including international operations. He joined McLeod & Company in 1993 to head the tax area of the practice, and is responsible for coordinating tax services. Fulton serves a diverse group of industries including construction, retail, distribution, manufacturing and health care.

Specific experience includes:

 

Assisted clients in complex tax issues dealing with the Internal Revenue Service

Assisted clients in the development of short and long range tax planning for both corporate and individual clients

Assisted clients with acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers

Performed Cost Recovery Studies to maximize tax depreciation on fixed assets

Development of management succession plan for orderly transition of management and ownership

Development of personal financial plans for owners and key management personnel

Assisted clients in obtaining maximum tax benefits of tax credits and tax accounting methods for manufacturers

Served a number of clients in the areas of business valuations

Passed examination for Certified Business Appraiser designation

Education

Fulton earned his B.A. and M.E. degrees from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia and a Master of Accountancy degree with a concentration in taxation from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi.
